Hi! Welcome to my shop of vintage, antique, previously loved & up-cycled decor for you and your home. I’m Michelle Cameron (aka DMC).
I’m a filmmaker that also dabbles in interior design and decor. As a filmmaker (writer, director & producer), I make a living telling visual stories. For me, design is another extension of visual storytelling and an even better way for me to connect with the humans around me.
I love decorating — parties, my home, your home, YOU, all of it. When I was a kid we’d have garage sales and as an incentive to get me to get rid of old toys my mom would let me keep the money from whatever I sold. I’d take the money I made and ride my bike to Big Lots or other garage sales and shop for decor for my bedroom. (Luckily I have a very creative mom who encouraged/s my design habits.)
Now a grown adult, in addition to decorating, I also love hosting parties and having people in my home. For those occasions its always more fun when you have something beautiful or playful to dip your chips in or sip your cocktail out of. I especially love when there’s a story I can tell my guests about an object — how I found it, where it’s from, who the designer is or the history of the materials it was made with. Sometimes an object can tell us something about the humans that came before us. Or sometimes they can just make you smile.
I personally found every object in the shop. I’ve also researched every item (I love a good deep dive) and whenever possible I’ve included it’s story — who designed it, who manufactured it, what time period it is from and a little bit about why I love it and think you will too. If you’re the type that loves something unique and that will make you smile every time you use it or look at it on your shelf, you’re in the right place. It’s functional art.
I’m continuing to add new items weekly so be sure to visit frequently, you are always welcome here. My hope is to create a place where you get an experience that’s beyond just buying and consuming products.
Be sure to check out the “vintage party kits” — they are pre-styled (by me) vintage sets of glassware, plates, servers & decor. I think half the challenge of shopping vintage when it comes to dinner & party-wares is finding items that all work together. Enter me (and my shop). I’ll continue to add more pre-styled sets so if you’d like to receive updates when new items are added to the shop or just general musings about design and decor (my newsletter I suppose?? I’m winging this!) please sign up with your email address.
Everything has a story.
1950’s Glass Bowl — designed by Dorothy Thorpe, a woman and a pioneer in glassware design in the 1950s.
I've researched every item in my shop and whenever possible I share that story with you – like this 1950’s glass bowl designed by Dorothy Thorpe. (Lays potato chips just taste so much better out of a bowl designed by a female pioneer in glassware, don’t they? And now you have a story to tell your dinner guests.)
Vintage gift wrap.
Coming soon I will be offering the option to have your purchase(s) gift wrapped with this SWEET floral cellphane paper I scored. Isn’t it amazing?? Tis’ the season for gift giving (even for yourself).
