I’m Michelle (aka DMC).

As a filmmaker (writer, director & producer) who dabbles in the interior design world, I make a living telling visual stories. For me, design is another extension of storytelling and sometimes an even better way for me to connect with the humans around me.

I love decorating — parties, my home, your home, YOU, all of it. When I was a kid we’d have garage sales and as an incentive to get me to get rid of old toys my mom would let me keep the money from whatever I sold. I’d take the money I made and ride my bike to Big Lots or other garage sales and shop for decor for my bedroom. (Luckily I have a very creative mom who encouraged/s my design habits.)

Now a grown adult (I think?), in addition to decorating, I also love hosting parties and having people in my home. For those occasions its always more fun when you have something beautiful or playful to dip your chips in or sip your cocktail out of. I especially love when there’s a story I can tell my guests about an object — how I found it, where it’s from, who the designer is or the history of the materials it was made with. Sometimes an object can tell us something about the humans that came before us. Or sometimes it can just make you smile. I like both those things.
